KERALA TRAVEL DIARY – Part 2

Our next destination was – Munnar

We took a cab to reach Munnar. On our way to Munnar we visited Valara waterfalls.

Due to summer we saw it bit dry. Actually this side of Kerala is full of beautiful waterfalls. But due to the weather and lack of rains all waterfalls were dry. Actually ideal time to visit Kerala is June. But we need to arrange our trip in summer due to our holiday adjustment. But we enjoyed it as family holiday means enjoying it together, right!

We reached our destination through beautiful tea valleys.

Can you see the sky behind? Amazing!!

We stayed in Tea County , Munnar.

It’s a KTDC (Kerala Tourism Development Corporation) lodge. Nestled in the heart of mountain, this staying made our stay more memorable. I specially loved their balcony. Room rent – It depends on type of cottage you are booking. Check their official website. http://www.ktdc.com

We went for sightseeing next morning.

There are several spots in Munnar. We visited

@Rose garden

They even sell plants. Ticket – Rs 50 / person

@Pothamedu View Point

It’s specifically photo clicking point. A beautiful tea garden in the background, it’s a beautiful scenery.There are cameramen who can click your pic . Also there are traditional tea leaf pickers dress.

Our next point was @mattupetty dam

The dam is situated in picturesque place. Paddle boats are there. But we choose a different boat.

Beautiful !! Aren’t they

A man drove it with a wooden handle. We four sat in the middle. A 20 minutes ride in the heart of the river was heart warming.

From there we went back to our hotel.
