This Aloo Peper Dalna is a Bengali style preparation of raw papaya. This dalna is a no onion no garlic recipe. Also it is ideal for kids as it is cooked in less oil.
HOW TO COOK ALOO PEPER DALNA(STEP BY STEP)
Dry red chilli
Garam masala powder
Salt and sugar to taste
Peel off the skin of papaya and cut them into cubes. Also peel off potatoes and cut cubes. Boil them.
Take a pan. Dry roast the yellow lentil.
Wash them after that.
Next put oil in pan. Temper the oil with cumin seeds.
Then add the perboiled potatoes and papaya cubes.
Fry them. In the meantime blend the tomato and ginger slice into fine paste.
As veggies get fried, add the yellow lentil. Add the cinnamon sticks and dry red chilli.
Add the masala paste of tomato and ginger. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric powder and sugar. Mix everything.
Cook in low flame for few minutes. Cover with a lid.
Now add water.
Cook for few more minutes. Sprinkle garam masala powder and finish cooking.
It tastes wonderful with rice.

INGREDIENTS Pepe or Green Papaya -1 (medium size) Potatoes -2-3 pieces Tomato -1. Ginger slice. Yellow lentil – 1/2 cup Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp Oil Cinnamon sticks -2/3 Dry red Chilli Cumin powder -1 tsp Coriander powder -1 tsp Garam masala powder -1 tsp Turmeric powder pinch Salt and sugar to taste

Chop the tomato ginger and make a paste of them. After boiling, put oil in pan and fry the potatoes and papaya. After frying add the yellow lentil. Stir for a while. Add the masala paste. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and turmeric powder and sugar. Mix everything . Cover with a lid and cook for few minutes. Add water as much needed. Cook for few minutes more. Sprinkle garam masala powder and finish cooking.
