Bhindi / Okra -250 gm

Onion -1

Garlic cloves -2

Tomato -1/2

Mustard seeds -1 tsp

Cumin powder -1 tsp

Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp

Salt and sugar to taste

Mustard oil to cook


Wash bhindis and chop them.

Put mustard oil in pan. Temper the mustard oil with mustard seeds.

Add the chopped bhindis. Stir fry till it becomes golden.

Chop the tomato and put it in pan. Cover with a lid.

Chop onion and garlic cloves. Make a paste. Put it in pan.

Add the spices. Mix everything and cover with a lid. Cook for few minutes.

Add the tamarind water and water. Cook till gravy thickenes.

Enjoy with rice or roti.

      Really! Okra is my favourite too. I usually bought them from market. Never grown it in my garden yet. But would love to do someday.
